Rize Up Bakery is a fast-growing San Francisco-based black-owned bakery focused on reinventing and rethinking the traditional sourdough.
Rize Up's story began as a home-based quarantine sourdough project that quickly turned into a micro bakery in the Spring of 2020. Within a year, Rize Up has outgrown Azikiwee’s backyard ovens and our trajectory has no end in sight! Rize Up wants to share our love of delicious, thoughtfully baked bread made with naturally leavened, organic, and sustainable high-quality ingredients.
This loaf will be the best garlic experience you'll have all year. Rize Up Bakery slowly confit whole garlic cloves in olive oil until they get soft and sweet. Then they mix in chopped thyme, because garlic confit needs a little herbal pop of flavor, you know? It's one of our most popular loaves.
With the amount of garlic in each loaf (the technical term is A LOT), it'll be sure to keep the vampires away... unless you invite them in, of course. Then I can't help you. I don't mess with vampires. My mama taught me better than that.
Try this:
Make a savory bread pudding using your favorite soft herbs (chives, dill, tarragon, etc) and serve it with whipped goat cheese. Whip a few tablespoons of heavy cream to soft peaks, then add in a couple of ounces of soft goat cheese and whisk until combined. Salt and pepper to taste, then serve together.
This loaf is just begging to be reheated in the oven, sliced, and served with roasted chicken, fish, or a chickpea/bean stew with Iranian flavors. Won't you help it reach it's dream?
