Pastured eggs from Burroughs Family Farm in Modesto, where there are also extensive almond orchards. Benina and her husband follow the methods of pastured egg farming that Joel Salatin began on Polyface Farm. These eggs are certified organic and pastured.

This flavorful broth is made from the bones, feet and heads of organic chickens. A splash of Bernie's apple cider vinegar helps draw minerals out of the bones. We simmer it at just the right temperature for 12-16 hours to draw out the nutrients without damaging them by overcooking, and to bring out a lovely flavor.

The wild ramps in this powder were foraged in May from the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. This flavorful gelatin-rich broth is made from Marin Sun Farms beef bones and browned meat, filtered water, and a splash of apple cider vinegar. Our beef broth is cooked for approximately 48 hours before being jarred, lidded and cooled. According to Dr. Thomas Cowan, "In healthy, traditional cultures, when an animal was slaughtered, all the parts were put to use, including the bones, to make mineral-rich broth. Our modern diet, having largely forgotten the use of broth as the basis of our cooking, is estimated to have less than half the mineral content of more traditional diets. We do not recommend that you freeze the beef broth in these jars. Although the jars are meant to be freezer-safe, we have found that the beef broth can still crack the jar when frozen. You can transfer the broth to a different container to freeze it. We find that, unopened, the broth lasts for four weeks or more in the fridge.

If you've been using the Strong Child syrup, don't worry, this is the same formula with one more herb (ginger!) and a bit more reishi. Wellness Syrup is a slightly updated formula that is potent enough for adults and safe for children. (Frieda, the syrup maker, thought about calling it "instead-of-insurance syrup", but it wouldn't fit on the label. ) This medicine is formulated for deep immune support and nutrient absorption. It's meant to be taken during seasonal shifts, at the onset of illness, and for people with compromised immune systems (sleep-deprived, very stressed, elderly, coming off antibiotics). It's alcohol free (honey-based), safe for children, and uber local with Sonoma County honey, elderberry and jujube. Yume Boshi founder Ayako Iino grew up eating her mother's house made umeboshi pickles. She founded Yume Boshi in 2013 as the fruit on the ume plum trees became ripe in Northern California. Using traditional methods Ayako set to work transforming the tangy fruit she sources from small local orchards into pickles. Koume is a style of umeboshi pickle that is made with a different variety of ume plum. The fruit is smaller and more delicate. Soft, tangy, salty, bright red color --- that same taste but it can be used with less impact. Great for rice balls or for bento box. Umeboshi is a savory ume plum pickle eaten as a condiment for rice every day in Japan. She uses locally sourced plums and traditional methods of preparation. Ume plums are salted, flavored with red shiso leaves, and then dried under the California sun to make umeboshi. The ultimate companion for a bowl of plain steamed rice. (Mix in small amount as you wish.) Stronger taste than your usual pickle - a little goes a long way!??
