Greek Lemon Chicken Soup (Avgolemono) -- 22 oz 22 oz in 24 ounce jar

Chicken and bone broth are simmered with activated brown rice and onions, then thickened with Coastal Hill pastured eggs and plenty of fresh lemon juice for this simple, sumptuous Greek classic. A few slivers of shredded carrot were inadvertently added to this dish, which normally contains no carrot. It's almost imperceptible, but in case anyone is avoiding carrots or root vegetables, we wanted you to know.

Sweet and Sour Tomato Sauce one pint jar

Limited Quantity Onions and a bit of garlic are sauteed in olive oil, and then simmered over low heat with tomato paste, beef bone broth, bay leaves, as well as a bit of red wine vinegar and sucanat to make a nutrient-dense, delicious red sauce that has a balance of sweet and sour. This sauce is great with hamburgers, and makes a delicious substitute for ketchup. Try it with meatballs or meatloaf, rice, polenta, or veggies. Mix with our Yogurt or Piima Cream for a wonderfully rich and creamy version. Broth-based sauces make every meal more digestible and nutrient dense--not to mention flavorful!

This recipe recreates one of the most popular stews eaten throughout West Africa. It features chicken braised with tomatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage and chiles. Our version is milder than what you would find in West Africa, but still has a bit of a kick! It can be eaten on its own, and is wonderful over rice.

French Lentil Soup with Salted Pork and Greens -- 22 oz 22 ounces in a 24 oz jar

For a taste of the French countryside (and the Bay Area countryside) we saute leeks with kale and escarole from local farms, and braise them in our pork bone broth with French green lentils and brined pastured pork leg from Marin Sun Farms. A splash of dry white wine to finish, and you have a hearty bowl of soup that is great with a bit of sauerkraut mixed in or a dollop of yogurt cream.

COMES FROZEN THIS WEEK. Organic chicken livers from Pittman Farms are seared, poached in Straus grassfed butter and puréed with caramelized onions, sea salt, mustard, parsley, a few drops of brandy, black pepper and cloves for a rich, deeply satisfying and nourishing spread that is topped with a thin layer of butter to preserve freshness. One of our most popular dishes, it's perfect on Morell's rye bread or the irresitable Cult Crackers -- don't forget to use the butter layer! A forkful or two of our raw sauerkraut offers a bright balance of flavor and a probiotic boost.

Frozen -- Mini Meatloaf (RAW) 1 lb. loaf in small tin (5 in X 4 in)

This frozen, ready-to-cook raw meatloaf is made with grassfed beef. Instead of breadcrumbs, we use lentils that have been soaked and pureed to create a classic meatloaf texture. We finely mince onions, carrots and celery, then enrich the loaf with a bit of liver, bind it with pastured eggs and season it lightly. This meatloaf will feed 2-3 people.

Instructions: Remove the paper lid before baking. Preheat oven to 350º. If desired, spread meatloaf with a layer of ketchup. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 35-40 minutes if defrosted, one hour or more if still frozen. Uncover for last 10-15 minutes. Pierce with a knife to test if juices run clear. Defrosted meatloaf can also be rolled into meatballs, then cooked.

Traditionally called a Cottage Pie in England, this is just like a Shepherd's Pie, but with beef instead of lamb. Escarole in Tomato Brodo with Parmigiano (Vegetarian) 1 pint jar

Escarole is one of the classic and deeply nourishing greens that is prized in Europe but sadly lacking in the American diet. Escarole's tender leaves have a hint of bitterness which is balanced in this dish by braising it in tomato broth with bay leaves for a rich and delicious "brodo." It is finished with grated Parmigiano Reggiano and black pepper. Add bone broth and re-season for a soup, or try serving it over polenta, rice, or pasta. Kale Caesar Salad in a Jar 1 quart jar

A perfect meal to go. We start with our housemade Caesar Dressing, then layer tender cooked navy beans, baby kale and spinach, topped with a sprinkling of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
